Celebrate #Fixaleakweek with These Plumbing Tips!

Each March, the Environmental Protection Agency reminds homeowners to check their home plumbing for leaks. Worn toilet flappers, dripping faucets, and leaking valves that can waste water, putting strain on the environment and your wallet. Here are a few places to check for leaks in your home this week.

Check for Home Leaks:

  • Faucets – Old and worn faucet washers and gaskets can cause your faucet to drip when not in use. Leave the DIY internet tutorials behind and let our plumbing technicians correct your problem quickly and efficiently.
  • Toilets – Toilet leaks are often cause by faulty or worn toilet flappers. Over time, this rubber piece can decay or in areas with hard water, minerals can build up on it.
  • Showerheads – Leaky showerheads can often be fixed simply by making sure that there is a tight connection between the showerhead and the pipe stem.
  • Outdoors – If you have an in-ground irrigation system, it’s important to check it before you start to use it in the spring to make sure it wasn’t damaged from the cold winter we have had. You should also check your garden hoses for leaks at the connection to the spigot.
