World Water Day: Essential Home Water Conservation Tips

Today is World Water Day! Not only is today a day to celebrate the importance of water, it’s also a day to make a difference. Here are a few water conservation tips to help you manage your water use for your home, your wallet, and the Earth.

Water Conservation Tips:

  • Cut Back on Rinsing – You don’t actually need to rinse off dishes before putting them in newer dishwashers. If you have a new model, avoid rising and save water.
  • Choose Water-Efficient Models – Upgrade your home plumbing fixtures to models that are more conservative. WaterSense models use less water to get the job done.
  • Check for Leaks – Not all leaks are obvious. Test your toilet for leaks at least once a year.
  • Replace Worn Parts – If your toilet flapper doesn’t close properly after flushing, it is time to get a replacement. They are affordable and can help you prevent water waste.
