If you leave your fan on, your HVAC unit will continuously cycle and pull in dust, pollen, and other particles that will eventually clog up your filter. To remedy this, make sure your thermostat is set to auto — which helps save you energy as well!
Your Filter Has a High Merv Rating
The higher quality your filter is (i.e. the higher Merv rating it has), the more particles it is able to grab from your home’s air. Because it is catching more, the filter can also become filled or dirty more quickly.
